A Certain Surreptitiousness

A certain surreptitiousness
That wills me into this
Aberration of a life
An existence full of uneasy remittance
Hostile witnesses
And 2 forlorn and sometimes bitter wives
A curtain rendered, weathered &  ripped
A fatal Caesar’s kiss
A soldier’s piercing knife
Pockets packed full of a pauper’s pittance
And a mouth that begs forgiveness
After  a handful of maligned lives
Lived less now adorn the loser’s list
