Arrows & Slings

We then, are a Godly people intent on endurance
As Fathers, Sons, Mothers and Daughters
Housed in these fragile earthenware vessels
Intent on holding our own as we navigate these obstacle tainted waters
We then through prayerful consideration cope
With what little this world offers
We look forward as we diligently these fires stoke but;
With what assurance?
While others are needing their imperfect eyes and visible pictures
We see with our hearts what is written in the scriptures
for our benefit aforetime
And we take note
We take hold of a proper purpose, a biblical compass, and a guiding light that in intensity grows;
With these we lay claim to the value of hope
~This in part is our treasure
That in and amongst a world of godless and therefore hopeless souls
We selflessly give out of love and zealously share
The encouragement from God's word, that like salvation's rope
Reaches the hearts of the presently unaware
Yet chosen ones and fulfills our kingdom proclaimed roles
Indeed we persevere, yet we unitedly sing
We however are aware of the treacherous path
Still we joyfully note
That the sufferings, shipwreck and financial stings,
and unforeseen circumstance
The burning arrows, and the constant barrage of slings
And Satan’s attempt at a seductive dalliance
Are all considered a joy, yielding no place for wrath
For if we reach for Him, I mean really take notice of his king,
In essence for Jehovah actively grope
We find even in troublesome season he is not far off from us
And we soon and forever will taste and see the good that Jehovah brings
